چکیده

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2022 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P). To study treatments consisting three levels Nitrogen such as, 80, 100 and 120 kg/ha with spacing as 75 x 10 cm2, 60 20 cm2 45 30 cm2. The soil experimental plot sandy loam in texture, nearly neutral reaction (pH 7.1), low organic carbon (0.28%), available N (225 kg/ha), P (19.50 kg/ha) K (92 kg/ha). There were 9 each being replicated thrice laid out Randomized Block Design. results revealed that treatment 8 (Nitrogen + 65x20 cm) recorded maximum number cobs/plant (2.33), higher seeds/row (41.33), row/cob (14.40), weight green cob (351.20 g), yield (4.15 t/ha), stover (4.59 harvest index (45.90 %), gross returns (1,48,950.00 INR/ha), net (1,04,914.00 INR/ha) benefit cost ratio (2.38).

Growth and Yield Response of Maize (Zea mays L.) to Different Rates of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Fertilizers in Southern Nigeria

The effect of twelve different rates of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers on growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) in southern Nigeria was evaluated between June and October, 2007. The results of the study showed that application of 120kgN/ha + 0kgP/ha and 60kgN/ha + 40kgP/ha significantly increased the growth of maize than other treatments. The application rate of 120kgN/ha +40kgP/ha signi...
